Messi is not a failure, they just need a coach who can blend all the players together, it is now obvious that Messi can no longer play as false nine again but he can always be useful as a second striker or support striker. I expect the management to change the current coach and appoint someone better

For the leauge to grow they need big names. Before Beckham MLS was a low rated leauge noone even looked at in europe. Just a retierment leauge for players that didnt want to end their careers and wasnt good enough for european leauges. MLS will always be a leauge no top player looks at before they become a hasbeen unless someone of the top players choose to go there to boost the leauge. I personaly think MLS could use som top names in different teams that isnt past their prime because it would help the leauge immensley to grow in both world standing and popularity all over the world.

Thats just the point. If players come to build the leauge they have to come before their prime is over. Just look at the effect Beckham and Zlatan had on the leauge when they were playing there. Both cam before their prime were over. Thats how you build a leaugue. Getting top names in their prime to elevate leauge. If all they get are players thats top names but past their prime they wont help elevate the leauge. It would be looked at like Quatar and Japan leauge. A leage where players go to wind down before retiering. France Leauge 1 have alot higher reputation because PSG an Monaco got top names in their prime and other teams have got bigger names as well now
Personaly i would love to see more top names go their before their prime has ended since the interest in MLS have been growing and they have really good arenas. Jusy imagine the hight MLS could elevate to if it would happen. Getting players that may be 30+ but still perform in all the MLS teams. Players like Messi,  CR7,  Benzema,  Lewandowski,  Muller,  Cavani, Pique,  Ramos,  Griezmann,  Rakitic,  Modric, Di Maria,  Busquets,  Alba,  Chiellini and so on. Players that definatley would bring the leauge to new hights. The thing is that i will never happen if someone dont start and promote the leauge to get other top players to join. Messi is one that definatle could draw other top players to MLS when they still are at their prime.

Again I agree. But we need to be realistic, the USA draws interest because of the money these clubs will pay for players past their prime. My country 🇺🇸 doesn’t love the sport of ⚽️ as much as they love their 🏈. USA is late to the game ⚽️. 

I would love for it to grow here in the 🇺🇸, but ⚽️ has been the sport of sports around majority of the world with the exception of the 🇺🇸. 

players dreams are not to play in the MLS is to play in Europe. In Europe ⚽️ is more than just a sport and for all of us fans is the same, heck governments and cities in Europe go all in for their teams

The MLS still has to figure out better competition system. A system of relegation would help raise the level of the sport and the USA does not have that. 

I do not disagree with you, the USA has or maybe had the opportunity to grow bigger but we need to start from the bottom up. 

My argument is a player like Messi needs to do what Ronaldo has been doing at this point and stay in the highest level of competition as long as his talent can still be used and that is in Europe, heck even Zlatan went back to Europe because his talent is still wanted. 

Growth in the 🇺🇸 for ⚽️ will happen, but not until we compete and win the Club World Cup and measure the MLS stature amoung at the best leagues in the world. 

The MLS is what it is, a second or third, maybe even lower tear sport here in the USA 🇺🇸 behind🏈🏀⚾️, and that is the reality. ⚽️ players dream of European play, not MLS.

You forget one major issue to your statement about MLS. As long as they dont have those top players in their prime they never will Club World Cup. Its just a matter of facts. Look at the clubs that won that cup so far. All had at least 3-4 top class players in their team. Winning that cup go hand in hand with getting the top names. Get the top names to grow the leauge and go after to win Club World Cup or dont get top players and stay a lowrated retierment leauge. Its just the facts of howbit works. A simple fact is the major boost MLS got when first Beckham and not to forget Ljungberg joined and later when Zlatan joined MLS. A boost the could have been huge if other players followed and would have made MLS take alot of ground on NFL,  NBA,  NHL and MLB. Its just simple facts. Big names makes for big leauges and draw other big names to the leauge. A couple of examples are French Leauge 1,  Dutch Eredivisie and Scottish Premier Leauge. All leagues that is now rated higher because they managed to get big names at their prime. I do understand your point but your arguments fail completley because what say the keauge need will never haooen without those top players at their best.

And those top players do not want to play in the mls when they are in their prime. That is why I said we have to build from within. New top players will emerge and that maybe from here in the USA some day. 
The mls playbook has to improve to compete in the highest level and it is, but not because of top names, but because players from the USA are now playing big roles in the European leagues and better youngsters are being developed in the 🇺🇸 

The mls will grow from within not just from top names out of their prime and again in their prime they go to Europe to try and make it (that is a fact). 

Messi coming to the MLS even right now will be great, I just believe as a fan of ⚽️ that I am. That he should keep playing at the highest level of our sport, not cut his career short playing at the highest levels to help develop a league.

I’m a Messi fan, and I just do not want to see him disappear from the highest stage so easily. Yes it will be good for the USA 🇺🇸 no doubt, but as a Messi fan I just can’t see him waste his talent on this league, when he is out of his prime both Ronaldo and Messi can come. 2. Get top players in their prime to sign for teams in MLS.
All other things will come automaticaly then. Its that simple snd anyone thay do have knowlage about how to build a team knows those facts. Why do you think there are more top leauges in europe now than ever before and more teams in each leauge that fight for trophys? Answer is simple. They got money in the teams to get those top players. The thing just refuse to accept is that MLS will go nowhere whout the top players comeing in before their prime are over. Untill you actually state some facts about what MLS does to bring in more money and get the big names you have no ground what so ever to trash MLS like you do. I have experience as both coach and boardmember and the club i was in was going nowhere untill we got money to get the players needed to elevate the team and by doing so won their leauge and season after just missed another promotion by a single goal. Before you claim what a leauge needs to reach that top level go look at what they did in other leauges and you will see the same thing. More money to the teams,  higher wages paid and top players coming in their prime. Especially Fance Leauge 1 is proof of that and now more french teams get top players because of it. Untill you accept the facts dont even bother sweing your complete nonsense again. All you are saying is keep MLS a thirdrated retierment leauge thats going nowhere.
