How much it would cost Barca to sack Koeman: explained

Barcelona will have to pay €7.5m to Ronald Koeman if they decide to sack him at the end of the season, Diario Sport report.

The Dutchman is closer than ever to leaving his position in the Camp Nou dugout following Barca's run of one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five La Liga games - something that cost the Blaugrana the title this term.

Javier García PimientaXavi Hernandez, Erik ten Hag and Hansi Flick have all been mentioned among potential Koeman replacements with the Barcelona B head coach as the favourite to succeed the Dutchman at the helm of the first team.

As Barca's net debt has risen to €1.2bn over the last 12 months, Joan Laporta will certainly think twice before dismissing Koeman who is tied with the club until 2022.

Joan Laporta not willing to sack Koeman without having successor in place: ESPN

Barcelona are considering Ronald Koeman's departure for the club at the end of the season, according to ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens.

Joan Laporta, however, isn't willing to part company the Dutchman without having a successor in place, as per the source.

The president doesn't want to repeat the mistake Barca did with Ernesto Valverde's sacking in 2020.

Even though the Catalans dismissed Valverde, they failed to persuade Koeman, Xavi Hernandez, Mauricio Pochettino or Erik ten Hag to take over at Camp Nou back then with Quique Setien ending up in the dugout.

Barca's streak of one victory, two draws and defeats in their last five La Liga games has made the Catalans give up their title hopes with one game to go this term.

Koeman himself believes that the recent run will lead to his exit from the club this summer, the report says.

Xavi, meanwhile, is described as the 'most logical option' to replace the Dutchman.

The current Al Sadd boss, however, is 'in no rush' to return Barca as he would prefer to join the former club in more 'favourable' conditions.
