Thiago Silva has announced his decision to leave Chelsea at the end of the season. The 39-year-old is not expected to retire just now though, with a return to Brazil on the cards.
In his farewell message, he said that he plans to return to Stamford Bridge in another role. He didn't specify the role but it looks like he wants to become a manager after retiring.
According to Nizaar Kinsella, the Brazilian is 'doing his UEFA B Coaching Licence'. He has also helped Mauricio Pochettino deliver team talks in the changing room this season.
Kinsella adds: "Thiago Silva was a major part of Chelsea's fightback at Aston Villa on Saturday.
"He delivered a message to the players, along with Pochettino, at half-time which stirred the players into a comeback and almost winning the match. It goes to show the level of influence he has."
