'I spoke with him': Marco Silva explains why Broja isn’t starting games for Fulham

Armando Broja has not been able to start a game for Fulham since joining the club on loan from Chelsea at the end of the winter transfer window.

Marco Silva, their manager, was asked about why the Chelsea loanee is being used as a late substitute and said: “I spoke with him about this situation yesterday. This is the Premier League.

“It’s important to have him with us. He’s a player we looked at last summer as well. He knows being in the Premier League that he is going to have competition for places.

“He arrived only last week and against Burnley, another striker scored an important goal and had a good impact on that game. If Rodrigo is going to have another good week and Armando is going to have a good week, then it’s perfect for us.

“Football players are not stupid. They can understand decisions and one way you can deal with the situation is to work hard and show that they are better than the others who are playing.”

Broja will probably have to work hard to earn a starting role at Fulham after their striker Rodrigo Muniz scored a brace in the 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

The Albanian forward has only received just over 30 minutes of game-time so far, which is not as much as what he or the Blues would’ve wanted when he joined Fulham on loan.
