Are Chelsea really in for Brennan Johnson for £50m? Romano shares update

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Chelsea are among several clubs interested in signing Brennan Johnson. The winger is rated at £50m and the newspaper claimed that the Blues could offer Andrey Santos on loan to lower the fee.

Fabrizio Romano insists that the Blues are not actively pursuing the deal for the Forest forward.

Chelsea appreciate Brennan Johnson as talented player but didn’t submit any bid — not negotiating to sign Brennan, as of today," the journalist tweeted.

"Club looking at different options in that position as things stand."

The Welshman scored eight goals and provided three assists in 38 Premier League appearances last season.
