Explained: why Arsenal won't be allowed to wear new home kit for Everton clash

Arsenal have confirmed that they will not be wearing their newly-released 2024/25 home kit for the upcoming game against Everton.

In an official statement, the club confirmed: “The men will be wearing the current home kit for the game this weekend as we're still in the title race. The women will wear the new kit on Saturday.”

The Premier League rules compel any team who are mathematically in the title race to use their home kit for that season in the final match.

That means Arsenal will need to wear their current home jersey for the Everton clash. Man City, similarly, will not be allowed to wear their newly launched 2024/25 home kit against West Ham United either.

The Gunners will be focused on finishing the 2023/24 season on a high note with a big win over Everton. They will also hope that West Ham can defeat Man City or hold them to do a draw, which can then allow Arsenal to clinch the Premier League title.
