Arsenal 'leading' Odsonne Edouard race as Auba and Laca are set to leave

According to the Express, Arsenal have emerged as the frontrunners for Odsonne Edouard's signature.

The Frenchman will arrive as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, who are expected to leave the Emirates in the summer.

The Celtic centre-forward is valued at £25m and Mikel Arteta sees him as his most important transfer target

Everton, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Lille and Lyon are also keen on the 22-year-old who has been in red-hot form this season, scoring 21 goals in 27 Scottish Premiership games.

The rumour mill simply never stops and there are many strikers who are speculated to be on the verge of a move to Arsenal. Edouard, who is admired by Thierry Henry, has been on the Gunners' radars for a long time.

Charlie Nicholas explained how Odsonne could fit into Arsenal's XI:

"Edouard would then fit into the Arsenal team as the No 9," said Nicholas. "You would still need to give him time as he's not been playing every week against Premier League quality."

Speaking of Auba and Laca, there is a lot of gossip about the duo leaving the club. They have not extended their contracts, ending in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

The Gabon international is expected to make a decision in June with Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Inter Milan interested in his services.

The 28-year-old could be used as a bargaining chip in negotiations with Atletico Madrid over landing Thomas Partey.
