Ancelotti speaks on Courtois replacing Lunin in goal

With Thibaut Courtois close to returning to action, Carlo Ancelotti was asked what it would mean for Andriy Lunin, who has hardly put a foot wrong in recent months.

In response, the manager said: “He’s doing well… and it’s true that we’ve discovered a goalkeeper who gives us confidence.

“He’s safe and when Thibaut comes back, we’ll see, because he’s coming off a very bad injury and we have to be careful, like with Militao. There is no rush. Lunin is giving us security.”

Courtois will return from his horrific ACL injury after the international break. Lunin will almost certainly keep his place but there are no guarantees next season.
