Sergio Ramos reveals he was close to Real Madrid exit in 2014

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Sergio Ramos has revealed he was close to Real Madrid exit in 2014, just months after La Decima triumph.

The Spanish defender was supposed to fill in the void in Manchester United's defence, created by Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic's departures that summer.

"I was close to joining them. My father wanted to see me at Old Trafford, he is a big fan of the team, but I decided to stay where I should be, at Real Madrid."

Bet he doesn't regret the decision, though. The legendary centre-back went on to win another three Champions Leagues with Los Blancos, forever inscribing his name in the history of the club.
