Fluminense secured a historic victory in the Copa Libertadores final, beating Boca Juniors 2-1 at the iconic Maracana stadium on Saturday. This marked the Brazilian side's very first title at the tournament.
It was the first Copa Libertadores for Marcelo as well! The legendary defender returned to his boyhood club in February, after 16 years away, winning a title this big just 7 months later.
Though he was subbed off in the second half v Boca, he was still part of the winning team. Right after the final whistle, Marcelo burst into tears.
It's Marcelo's 28th career trophy, 25 of them were secured in a Real Madrid shirt.
