'I'm sad': Endrick breaks silence on lack of playing time at Palmeiras

Endrick has finally voiced his dissatisfaction at his lack of playing time at Palmeiras under coach Abel Ferreira following their qualification to the Copa Libertadores semi-final.

"I'm thanking God, doing my part. I don't have anxiety, I'm not angry for not being playing. I had a conversation with Abel. He calmed me down. I don't have anxiety about playing or not playing. He says that the important thing is to work," Endrick said after the game

"It's in God's hands. I don't have time to complain about life, I'm just grateful for my time on earth.

"I'm doing what I like, which is playing soccer. I'm training, looking for my space. I'm a little sad for not being playing but I have to control that a little.

"I just thank God because he is the one who is with me every day, every night. If I could, I would ask the press not to may be talking, but it's what we players live. Life outside is crucifying.

"I'm going to continue training and playing. You can get angry with me but I'm going to talk about God, I'm going to transmit his word to the whole world," the teenager added.

Endrick had his red card in the quarter-final first leg rescinded allowing him to feature in the second leg. But he played just 28 minutes as Palmeiras held out for 0-0 against Pereira to advance to the last four.

The Real Madrid-bound striker has only played five of Palmeiras last 29 games in all competitions.

The Brazilian will head to Real Madrid in 2024 when he turns 18.
