Man United are desperate to improve their backline next season and are being linked to a host of different defenders.
According to reliable Spanish outlet Relevo's Matteo Moretto, the Red Devils are really interested in signing Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo – for whom the Blaugrana will consider offers.
The Red Devils could potentially rope in the energetic, physical Uruguayan defender for the right price to bulk up their defensive line.
IF that ends up happening, then here are two ways Man United can line up with him next season.
Option one: Araujo in the middle
Araujo operates best as a centre-back. He is fast, strong and has the ability to back-track quickly to make clutch challenges. With the Red Devils looking for a strong partner for Lisandro Martinez, Araujo is likely to be slotted alongside his fellow South American star in the backline.
Both Licha and Ronald are fierce defenders who can add the right amount of aggression and intelligence to help Man United keep more clean sheets.
Option two: As a right-back
The Uruguayan has also impressed in the role of a right-back occasionally for Barca. Most notably, he has excelled in that role in multiple El Clasicos and kept Vinicius Jr quiet.
If Man United need to neutralize the threat of a dangerous winger, they could play Araujo on the right next season (if he’s signed). The Barca star can also make decent attacking runs and be an imposing figure on the right wing for the Red Devils.
