Harry Maguire has admitted that he played through injury for Man United in their win over Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final.
After the game, he said: “I always put the club first. I haven't really trained this week.”
The centre-back, who scored the second goal in the 3-3 (4-2) win, also opened up about the overall performance and added: “We don't feel amazing at the moment. Maybe we will wake up tomorrow morning and realise we are in another cup final; it is three in two years.
“The club demands winning these big trophies and being in these big finals, and it is one we are looking forward to. It was a really, really, really strange game to play in.
“We had so much control in the game and out of nowhere it was 3-2. We let them back in far too easily.”
Maguire reportedly reaggravated his groin injury against Coventry City and was seen in clear discomfort towards the end of normal time. However, he fought through the pain to complete 120 minutes and was one of Man United’s best players in the win too.
