Are Man United ready to extend Raphael Varane's £17.6m contract amid injury issues? Answered

Raphael Varane has again been struck by an injury issue and is now expected to be out of action for a few weeks.

He is going to have to fight hard to feature in any of Man United’s remaining matches in April, but seems set to miss the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

Varane’s current contract, which sees him earn a whopping £340,000-a-week wages (or £17.6m per year), is actually set to expire at the end of June.

As per the Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler, the Red Devils are not going to offer him a new contract with this kind of financial package.

That is why, at the moment, it appears that Varane is set to leave Old Trafford and become a free agent in July.

The French centre-back has made 30 appearances for Man United so far this season, but his three-year stint at Old Trafford has been plagued with over 19 cases of injuries.
