Manchester United are reportedly in talks with RB Leipzig over a January loan move for Timo Werner.
The 27-year-ol striker has been reduced to a part-time player this season, finding himself on the bench most of the time.
What happened last season?
Werner returned to Germany in the summer of 2022, leaving Chelsea after they were bought by an American consortium led by Todd Boehly.
The striker had a decent first season back, scoring 16 goals in 40 games across all competitions although his Bundesliga tally stood at 9 goals in 28 games.
Competition for places
This season, Werner has lost his place in the team to the players with better numbers. Lois Openda, Lens' hero of 2022/23, already has 15 goals from 25 games with Benjamin Sesko serving as a back-up.
Injuries play a part
Werner also remains an injury-prone player, spending time on the sidelines last season with a syndesmotic ligament tear while this campaign his been disrupted by adductor pain.
