Man United want Palace star to be first signing of Sir Jim era (reliability: 4 stars)

Manchester United are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise as one of the first transfers of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era at Old Trafford.

As per the Evening Standard, while a January move has been ruled out, the Red Devils want the 22-year-old to be part of the squad overhaul this summer.

Despite Olise signing a four-year contract in August 2023, his £100,000-a-week deal includes a release clause that becomes active at the end of the season.

The exact figure of the release clause is undisclosed for now, but it is expected to surpass the £35 million release clause in his previous Palace contract.

Ratcliffe is working on restructuring Man United's transfer strategy, and Olise has being identified as part of this effort to revitalise the club's struggling attack.
