Dean Henderson may not join Nottingham Forest after all — explained

This is a major twist in the tale, considering Dean played there on loan last season. He was their primary target for months but now they consider Turner a priority. 

Romano adds Forest have already contacted Arsenal about their final conditions for the transfer. Also, unlike Henderson, they want Turner permanently. 

If Dean's move collapses, he could stay on at 

 next season. However, he's unlikely to be a guaranteed starter.

The Athletic notes that discussions are still ongoing between both parties but there is little hope of a deal actually working out.
