How Man United have benefitted from Tahith Chong's move to Luton Town: explained

Former Man United winger recently completed a move to Premier League newcomers Luton Town.

He joins them from Birmingham City for a reported fee of around £4m. Incidentally, Man United will benefit from this.

When the Red Devils sold him for £1.45m last year, they inserted a 25% sell-on clause in the contract.

That gives him the right to earn £1m from Chong’s sale to Luton thanks to the clause.

That means Man United have earned a combined fee of around £2.45m from the two transfers of their academy product.

Chong will be facing his former team twice in the Premier League next season and it remains to be seen how he plays in those games.
