'Frustrating, especially when team needs you': Jota opens up on injuries

“I had a knee injury at the beginning of the year and now I came back but got injured again,” Diogo Jota said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“It’s not nice. Yeah, sometimes (it’s unlucky). It’s so frustrating, especially when the team needs you.

“You feel like we were fighting for a lot of titles and you can’t play. That’s very, very frustrating. It’s so hard (watching from the sidelines) - 100 times worse than actually playing.”

The Portugal international has missed a large part of the season, featuring only 21 times in the Premier League so far.

The 27-year-old is arguably the best finisher at Liverpool alongside Mohamed Salah. Considering that the Reds have struggled to convert their chances this season, not having Jota available was a major factor in Liverpool dropping out of the title race in April.
