Fernando Torres HIMSELF requested Anfield visit, reason revealed (reliability: 5 stars)

It was Fernando Torres himself to ask Liverpool for the visit of Anfield and the training facilities, reports Relevo's Marcos Duran.

The Spaniard believes he has 'completed his cycle' with Atletico Madrid and eyes a change of plans. The La Liga club are going to make the decision on the 40-year-old's future later this month.

If Torres, currently coaching Atletico U19, doesn't get promoted to Atletico Madrid B or the first team, he could look for a new club in the summer. Who knows, maybe he'll actually end up at the Liverpool academy?

Atletico Madrid U19 are comfortably on top of their group with 20 wins in 25 games – they are seven points ahead of Alvaro Arbeloa's Real Madrid U19 that also receive much praise these days.
