The news about Liverpool's interest in the Frenchman were broken by Bild journalist.

The 22-year-old has made 31 appearances for Gladbach this season, recording a goal and an assist. His tackling, passing and dribbling stats are quite good.

Liverpool want Gladbach's Manu Kone (reliability: 5 stars)

German newspaper Bild adds that the Reds are very serious about the Frenchman, who would cost between €40m and €45m.

Kone's biggest strengths are tackling and carrying the ball forward.

These three have been linked with a move to the Reds for quite a long time but there are also a few other midfielders the Reds are interested in. Here they are, 

 (Inter Milan). Liverpool have admired the Italian for a long time and could try to sign him as Inter could be forced to sell him this summer due to financial problems.

 (Aston Villa). A bit unlikely the Reds will go for the Villa man as it would take a lot of money to convince Unai Emery to sell one of their best assets. But Liverpool do like him a lot.

 (Nice). An energetic midfielder Liverpool need so much to fill the Gini Wijnaldum void — and 'there is definitely interest on the Reds' part'.

 (Atalanta). Liverpool scouts have recommended the club to sign the Dutchman.

 (Wolves). Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the Portuguese. His first season with Wolves has been quite tupsy-turvy but the Reds think he can develop into a world-beater.

Romeo Lavia (Southampton). Lavia is probably not staying at St Mary's as Southampton are going down, and a fee of around £40m would be enough to get him. Chelsea are also interested in the youngster.

we need to have best midfield in the league we need good tough tackling midfielder which is why I think ugarte is perfect young we can make him world class like we do also thus season everybody gunna see different Darwin this season YNWA
