A Talksport host Jamie O'Hara said that Mo Salah is "the closest to Lionel Messi we have seen".
But Everton winger Andros Townsend begs to differ.
"He's [Salah] definitely up there, that's for sure!" Townsend said on Talksport in response to O'Hara's remarks. as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
"I don't agree with Mr Clickbait saying he's the closest thing we've got to Messi. I don't agree with that!"
"It was amazing wasn't it? The best advert you can have for the Premier League," Townsend said about the Liverpool v City game.
"It was incredible. Back-and-forth, you didn't know which way it was going to go, world class players everywhere you look.
"It was an incredible advertisement for the Premier League."
If a goal and an assist against arguably the best side in football today is not enough to be considered 'closest to Messi' then I don't know what it is, really.
Mo has been superb this season, recording 9 goals in 9 games so far.
