Liverpool could bring '2 or 3 new faces' in the summer - James Pearce

According to The Athletic's James Pearce, Liverpool could still bring some players this summer despite the pandemic heavily affecting their financial state and transfer plans.
Answering a fan in his Q&A, Pearce suggested the Reds could bring '2 or 3 new faces' but pointed out that there is 'nothing happening at this stage'.
As of now, Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara has been heavily linked with Liverpool but his age, £30m-plus transfer fee, injury record and position on the pitch make the transfer quite doubtful.
Liverpool were expected to land Timo Werner in the summer but the 23-year-old attacker opted to join Chelsea instead.
In terms of outgoing transfers, Liverpool have parted ways with Nathaniel Clyne already.
Adam Lallana is set to leave upon the expiration of the contract after the end of the season.
Besides, Xherdan Shaqiri and Dejan Lovren are linked with exits while Georginio Wijnaldum is yet to sign a new deal with the Reds, his current contract expiring in the summer of 2021.
