'I can assure you, they don't': Football fans destroy Postecoglou's claim about Spurs fans wanting a win vs Man City

Ahead of the clash against Man City, Postecoglou said: "You think the majority of our fans don’t want us to win? I don’t see it that way, I think the fans inside the stadium will create the same atmosphere always do."

Tottenham can secure Champions League football if they win their remaining matches against Man City and Sheffield United and Aston Villa lose to Crystal Palace. It will also mean a chance for the Gunners to win the league.

Do Spurs fans want a win against Man City? Let's check the comments!

fap4jesus: "I work with a lot of match-going Spurs fans, I can assure you they do not want to win lol. Although they're not gonna create a bad atmosphere regardless."

Expensive-Method8321: "I can't imagine anyone at Spurs, whether it be Levy, Ange, or the players, aren't eager to beat City if anything just to prove that they can go toe-to-toe against the best in the world regardless of the circumstances. I'm kinda surprised more fans don't have the same mentality."

Spurs fans don't have the same mentality. For a huge part of the Tottenham community, the Champions League is worth nothing if Arsenal win the title race.

Comments from the Spurs fans.

Manoli20: "As a lifelong born and bred north London spurs fan... The small chance of a CL place is NOTHING in comparison to the hell we will go through for the next 12 months if they win the league. This is a lot deeper than some think."

michaelc51202: "I understand both sides, but it’s simply not worth a champions league spot to give Arsenal the title. No way."

theironsalmon: "I’m gonna wear my unlucky Spurs sweater tomorrow."

BonoBonero: "What's up with the mentality comments? No fan would want to help the biggest rivals win shit. You also wouldn't want that if the roles were reversed."

The Tottenham vs Man City match will be a strange one, as Guardiola's team will probably hear more chants in their support than Posteglou's side at their own stadium.
