'We will compete for every title': Roberto all but confirms Barca in talks to extend his contract

Sergi Roberto all but confirmed he is on the verge of signing a new contract after Xavi decided to stay

"We are very happy with Xavi staying. With him and this team, we will be able to compete for every single title," Roberto said in the aftermath of Barca's 4-2 win against Valencia.

Xavi earlier stated he wants Roberto to stay at Barca next season and has communicated his feelings to the club.

Roberto is Barca's captain but is usually used as a backup in midfield and sometimes as a right-back. The Spaniard has played just 20 games this season scoring three goals.
