Xavi's big demands to Joan Laporta during their meeting on Wednesday was that Barca avoid selling important players this summer, Mundo Deportivo reveals.
The gaffer expects players like Ronald Araujo, Lamine Yamal and Frenkie De Jong to be at the club next season if Barca are to compete for titles.
Instead of selling key players, Xavi demands that the squad be strengthened in the summer, particularly in midfield where Sergio Busquets still hasn't been replaced adequately.
Xavi's ideal defensive midfielder is Bayern's Joshua Kimmich or Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi. However, Barca are considering bringing in Real Betis' Guido Rodriguez who will be a free agent this summer.
Barcelona are also courting Dani Olmo of Leipzig and are in the run-in for Manchester City's Bernardo Silva.
From all indications, Barca have agreed with Xavi to find a way to make a few signings and improve their squad this summer. If that doesn't happen the same problems from this season may creep up next year.
