9 players: Roundup of Barcelona's transfer plan for loanees

Barcelona sent out nine players on loan last summer. It's easily the highest number of loanees the club have sent out in a long time.

Loan, keep or sell? Here's what the transfer plan for each Barca loanee looks like.

Ansu Fati. Loan. The Spaniard has been tagged a 'sleeping giant' but Brighton are pushing to keep him on loan for next season. Barca are unlikely to object.

Eric García. Sell. With the emergence of Pau Cubarsi and Mikayil Faye also banging on the door of the first team, Barca are tipped to offload Garcia to raise much-needed funds. Girona won't mind keeping him.

Julian Araujo. Keep. The Mexican is performing at a high level at Las Palmas and could command a place in the squad next season at right-back.

Clement Lenglet. Sell. The French defender has a huge wage bill which means Barca would be happy to see his back for good next summer. But it won't be easy as Aston Villa are not open to signing him permanently.

Sergino Dest. Sell. Dest has impressed at PSV but his improved performances only make him a strong candidate to be sold to raise money as opposed to a return to the club.

Pablo Torre. Loan. The midfielder has struggled for playing time at Girona and if he can't do that there it's hard to see him doing it at Barca who are stacked with top-class players in his position. Another loan deal is expected.

Chadi Riad. Sell. Barca sold part of their rights to the player when they loaned him to Betis. Sources say Barca plans to buy back Riad's full rights and then sell him off at a higher price given he's performed well at Betis.

Estanis Pedrola. Loan. Not much has been heard of the talented 20-year-old winger since his move to Sampdoria in the Italian. Injury has not helped his course as he's only played 10 times this season and scored 3 goals. Like Fati, another loan deal for Pedrola is all but confirmed.

Alex Valle. Loan. The left-back has not played badly at Levante but Barca are well-covered in that position with Balde, Cancelo and Hector Fort. Thus, another loan move is inevitable.
