Dani Alves statue in Brazil vandalised again as citizens demand removal after ex-Barca man's rape conviction

The statue of Dani Alves in his hometown of Juazeiro has been vandalised for the second time, with white paint thrown on the monument.

Earlier this week, a black bag was put on the statue's head in protest against commemorating a convicted rapist.

Members of the Juazeiro community have requested the statue be removed, Mundo Deportivo report. The town mayor will hold a meeting over removing the monument later this week.

The former Barcelona full-back was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for violently raping a woman in a Barcelona nightclub.
