“He [Sergino Dest] played a good game against Torino. I told him that his problem is his mentality,” AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli said in a press conference.
“He must remain focused every day because he has important characteristics. I don’t think starting in an attacking position is good for him.
“He has excellent intensity and dynamism and has the qualities to help defensively.” Pioli.
Barcelona sent Dest on loan to AC Milan last summer after he failed to impress Xavi. The Barca gaffer told the press that Dest didn't have the right mindset and mentality when he first saw him.
Barca slapped a €20m buy option on Dest's loan deal with Milan but the Italians may not take it if the American right-back doesn't improve.
Barca are reportedly shopping for another right-back in the summer.
