Barca secure advantage in the race for 2 Brazilian gems: everything to know about them

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona and Santos have reached an agreement over the Catalans' preferential purchase options for two young players: Kaiky and Angelo.

It means that Barca will have an advantage over other teams if Santos decide to sell these two.

Barca didn't even pay a single penny to pull off this deal. Santos offered Blaugrana this opportunity to make up for the Gabriel Barbosa case: Barca paid the Brazilian club €7.9m to secure a preferential purchase option for the striker, but Santos sold the player to Inter Milan for €30m without even asking the Catalans.

This resulted in Barca filing a complaint of the breach of contract. Instead of paying the Spanish club €3m, they preferred to resolve the conflict another way.

So what do we know about Kaiky and Angelo? According to Reddit user YoungDawz who is keen on Brazilian football, they are 'the most hyped players in Brazil'.

Kaiky

Age: 18.

Position: centre-back.

Height: 1.86m.

Foot: right.

Estimated value: €8m.

First-team appearances for Santos: 37.

Yellow cards: 10.

💭 Fan opinion by YoungDawz: "Kaiky needs to improve his speed and passing velocity on short passes, in my opinion. Gambles a lot on tackles too. He's good in the air and has good passing range, though."

Angelo

Age: 17.

Position: right winger. Could also be a left winger, centre-forward and attacking midfielder.

First-team appearances for Santos: 51.

G+A: 1 goal, 1 assist.

💭 Fan opinion by YoungDawz: "Absolutely great dribbling and speed, average finishing, but it's expected from a player who barely has just turned 17. Also, he's the youngest player to ever score in the Libertadores."
