Catalan sourses: Several Premier League clubs battle for Andre Gomes

Andre Gomes is high demand this summer, with several Premier clubs fighting to sign him, Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo understand.

According to MD, Everton are very serious in their intention to sign the player who spent last season on loan at Goodison Park. Barcelona ask for around 25 million euros for the midfielder, as per the source.

Meanwhile, Diario Sport write citing Sky Sports, that West Ham are currently the frontrunners in the race for Gomes and have even already placed their second bid for the Portugal international. After the Catalans rejected their first offer of 18 million euros the Hammers returned with a 22,5 million bid. However, Barca are expected to reject this offer, too, as they're looking for 28 million euros at least for the Gomes, according to Sport.

On top of that, Sky Sports believe that Tottenham have also expressed their interest in Barcelona midfielder.

Andre moved to the Premier League last summer for one season. Everton paid £2.1m for the loan but didn't include an option to sign him on a permanent transfer. The 25-year-old midfielder has had a good season in the Premier League and Everton want him to continue at the Goodison Park.

Gomes was quick to adapt to English football. He has played 26 league games despite missing more than 6 weeks through injury. Marco Silva, Everton's current coach, is a self-admitted fan of the player and personally wants him to stay at the club.
