The 29-year-old missed a few sitters in the 4-2 win, including a penalty that he took despite Cole Palmer's presence on the pitch. Some fans even booed him off the pitch as he was subbed off.

After the game, Sterling took to Instagram with a message to the 

"To all the Chelsea fans, apologies for the Penalty miss. I’ll be back 10x times stronger to help the team win and continue to keep fighting for the badge every single day 🔵🔵 Let’s Go Blues"
