Speaking on talkSPORT radio, Rory Jennings said: "Timo Werner is going to Tottenham, I'm gutted about it simply because he played a huge part in Chelsea wining the Champions League and he's now decided to tarnish his legacy.
"There are few rules in football you mustn't break. You do not go from Chelsea to Tottenham, you do not play for Tottenham if you want to be loved at Chelsea. So, Werner going to Spurs has upset me because of what he once meant to me.
"However, the key question is how good is he? Can he improve Tottenham? I think the answer is 'no'. He's so wasteful. He misses not only chances, he misses sitters. I think his has flop written all over it. I don't see him bridging the gap."
Werner's move to Tottenham is all but official with the 27-year-old joining Spurs on loan until the end of the season with an option of making it permanent.
The forward was linked with a Manchester United transfer for weeks so his decision to join Tottenham instead has come as a huge surprise to everyone.
