Ashanti Akpan signs first professional contract

Chelsea youngster Ashanti Akpan has signed her first professional contract with the club till 2025. There is an option to extend a further year.

The 18-year-old has been at the club since 2014 and made her first-team debut for the senior Chelsea Women's side last season in March.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be a part of a deal for Conor Gallagher as Chelsea are considering offers for the 23-year-old.

Spurs have been willing to sell Hojbjerg, while Chelsea will likely need a replacement in midfield if they decide to cash in on their academy graduate.
