Fans notice two genius decisions by Ben White that helped Arsenal win the derby

Arsenal defeated Tottenham in the North London derby and continues to challenge Man City for the Premier League trophy. Interestingly, the Gunners only managed 3 shots on goal against Guglielmo Vicario - and all three resulted in goals.

But the most interesting thing is that in the cases of the first and third goals, the real protagonist was defender Ben White.

No, he didn't score. He didn't even assist. But it was Ben who 'switched off' the Italian Tottenham goalkeeper during the corner kick episodes.

Episode 1

15th minute of the match. Arsenal win a corner. Bukayo Saka is about to cross the ball. While the rest of the Gunners try to occupy the areas, White simply goes to Guglielmo Vicario.

Only opponents were around, but Ben didn't come to fight for the ball.

He gets close to Vicario, which confuses the goalkeeper. Then, at some point, he just grabs the Italian by the gloves!

It only lasted a second, but it was enough for Guglielmo to turn to White and start waving his arms.

Take a look at the area where it happened - closer to the far post.

Saka crossed to the near post, White quickly blocked Vicario and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg headed into his own net. Guglielmo simply had no time to react.

Episode 2

In the 38th minute of the match, with Tottenham already 2-0 down, Arsenal win another corner. This time from the other side. What does White do? That's right, he goes to distract Vicario again!

Ben didn't grab him by the gloves anymore, but was very active in making sure he couldn't get focused.

During Declan Rice's cross, the Arsenal defender again managed to take a position in front of the Italian keeper.

And simply out-positioned Vicario behind the goal line with his body.

Guglielmo went for the ball after Kai Havertz's shot from a very uncomfortable position.

Simple but genius.
