'Everything was good until he said that': How Wenger's single phrase ruined Zlatan's move to Arsenal

"When I was young, I had a lot of interest from a lot of clubs, and one of them was Arsenal," Zlatan Ibrahimovic told Piers Morgan in a recent interview (h/t The Sun).

"So, I came to the office of Arsene Wenger. It was a big hype because I saw these players, Bergkamp, Henry, Ljungberg, Vieira.

"In the end, he [Wenger] had an Arsenal shirt with Number 9 and said 'We want you to come and do a trial for two weeks'. Everything was good until he said that.

"I said 'I don't do trials' and he replied: 'You have to come and do one'. I said 'No, no, you don't understand, I don't do trials'. And that was it, I never went to Arsenal."
