Arsenal reportedly revive interest in Houssem Aouar, pivotal in Lyon dumping Juventus out of Champions League

According to L'Equipe (h/t GFFN), Arsenal are eager to land Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar. They face competition from Manchester City and Juventus.

The Frenchman mainly operates from a central midfield role, is good at playing between the lines and is known for his reading of the game and accurate passing.

The Ligue 1 side are hoping to get €60m from the move but they hope to sell the 22-year-old in order to generate cash, so they could be tempted to lower their valuation.

Aouar has been pivotal to Lyon this season and played an important role on Friday when his side sent Juventus spiralling out of the Champions League.

Apart from playing a good game overall, the earned a penalty after being fouled by Rodrigo Bentancur in the penalty box. Memphis Depay was ruthless from the spot and Lyon scored a crucial away goal which made the difference as Les Gones progressed to the quarter-finals at Juventus' expense.

L'Equipe are considered a rather reliable source and this is not the first time Aouar's name pops up when Arsenal potential transfer dealings are discussed.

TheGunners are also heavily linked with a move for Phillipe Coutinho, another attacking player capable of solving Arsenal's problem with creating chances.

Another player capable who possesses the necessary guile to set up goals for himself and others, Willian, is said to be on the cusp of a move to the Emirates.

Mesut Ozil, whose decline has resulted in Arsenal looking for someone to provide assists to the likes of Alex Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is apparently hell-bent on honouring his contract and staying at the Emirates until 2021.
