Valencia striker admits referee should've counted Real Madrid's last-second goal

"I understand Real Madrid," Valencia striker Hugo Duro told the media after the Whites' last-second goal was not counted.

"I don't understand why it took so long for the referee to whistle," he added.

Jesus Gil Manzano seemingly planned to blow the final whistle before Brahim Diaz sent a cross into the box but changed his mind for some reason and did it exactly when the attacking midfielder launched it. That looked really fishy.

While most Valencia players pretended like nothing happened, it's still pleasing to see at least one of them admit the referee's fault. Hugo Duro was actually part of Real Madrid Castilla from 2020 to 2021 before joining Valencia.
