Amad Diallo scored his first Premier League goal for Man United in the 3-2 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
After the goal, the Ivory Coast winger did a variety of celebrations. But one that stood out was of him replicating a celebration made popular by Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler.
This saw him put his right hand over his heart and point towards the sky with his left. While doing this, Amad also closed his eyes for a few seconds.
Diallo later revealed that he replicated Arda’s celebration at the request of a close friend. His mate had asked him to do this after knowing the backstory around it.
Guler revealed recently about the reason for this unique celebration and revealed: “My goal celebration is based on tawakkul. I believe everything comes from Allah.”
Amad, being a devout Muslim, couldn’t really turn down his friend’s request. He will now hope to replicate this celebration many more times after breaking his PL goal duck for Man United against Newcastle.
