Kobbie Mainoo – 9
Mainoo was not fazed on the occasion and refused to be bullied by the intense Liverpool players. Moved the ball around well, won 8/9 and made three tackles, two blocks in a great defensive effort to stop Liverpool’s attack. Then scored an amazing first Premier League goal at Old Trafford, which unfortunately couldn’t be the winner.
Willy Kambwala – 8
Kambwala showed nerves of steel playing against one of the league’s best-attacking sides and was extremely proactive at the back. Made three clearances and two key interceptions to stop a number of attacks, also winning 2/3 duels. He was in the right position to frustrate Liverpool and kept Darwin Nunez quiet with his mature defensive work.
Bruno Fernandes – 7.5
Fernandes had a sloppy first half, but was spirited after the break. Scored an amazing goal from A LONG WAY out to equalize and worked his socks off by running into all the great areas in the midfield. Worked hard defensively, making three tackles, five clearances and six possession recoveries.
Harry Maguire – 7.5
Maguire held together a pretty solid backline and was extremely proactive in such an intense, chaotic game. Ruffled Nunez and Diaz with his defending, making eight clearances, three tackles and winning nine duels – as well as ensuring that Kambwala did not come under too much of pressure.
Marcus Rashford – 4.5
Rashford failed to impose himself in the game, not being able to get the better of young Bradley or create much from the left. Failed to really cause any havoc in the opposition's final third, with some of his crosses cum shots being saved easily.
Rasmus Hojlund – 4.5
Hojlund was bullied by the Liverpool defenders, not being able to get himself past their centre-back line. Couldn’t really get properly involved in the match or create anything major in the final third.
Casemiro – 4
Casemiro failed to put his experience to good use and Liverpool targeted his ageing legs to torment Man United. He failed to protect the backline and was often easily bypassed. Made a few poor errors too, giving the ball away cheaply and putting his teammates under pressure. Despite recording some nice stats like three tackles and five clearances, his overall performance was poor as he failed to stop Liverpool’s breaks.
