Mexico boss Tata Martino believes United move can benefit Raul Jimenez

Speaking about Raul Jimenez’s chances at joining Man United and how he can improve them, Gerard ‘Tata’ Martino told ESPN: “Looking at it from the outside today I cannot see a specialist No. 9 like Raul at United.

“There are many forwards like [Marcus] Rashford, [Anthony] Martial and the boy who now plays as right winger: [Mason] Greenwood but since Romelu Lukaku left I can't see a pure number nine like Raul.

“We who see it from the outside, you [the journalist] and even me, always have the idea that a player has to aim for more and how good it would be for him to go to play for Manchester United.

“I think the best thing is for Raul to make the decision based on the analysis he makes and with the consensus of his family because, when it comes to enjoying, not only the player suffers and enjoy, but also the family do it.”

The Red Devils are interested in making a move for Jimenez but are in risk of being priced out by Wolves. The Mexican has remained tight-lipped about his future but also suggested to be ‘open to whatever comes’ his way.

The Mexican was praised by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in January when United were actively looking for a striker before signing Odion Ighalo on loan. Now with the Nigerian set to stay at Old Trafford till January 2021, it remains to be seen whether Solskjaer actively pursues a move for the prolific striker in the summer.
