Liverpool 'hoping' for Pep Ljinders return to build new legacy

Liverpool’s hierarchy are hoping that Jurgen Klopp’s assistant manager Pep Ljinders makes a return to Anfield in the near future given his influence over the years.

Henk de Jong, the person whom Arne Slot worked under at Dutch side Cambuur, spoke to the Mirror of this and said: “Pep Lijnders is not staying, but I sensed everyone at Liverpool is hoping Pep will come back to the club one day. They all spoke very highly about him and I really think he has built a big reputation for himself.”

Ljnders has already voiced his desire to move on from Liverpool alongside Jurgen Klopp, mostly because he aims to embark on his own managerial career and be a first-team manager like the German gaffer.

With that being said, the Dutchman has not yet agreed any deal to take over any particular team after leaving Anfield and is totally focused on his final month on the job at Liverpool alongside Klopp.

Ljinders has been a part of Liverpool since 2014, helping the Reds win all the major trophies and often filling in for Klopp whenever he was sick or unavailable.
