Gakpo 10, Elliott 9: Liverpool player ratings in Tottenham victory

Liverpool have defeated Tottenham 4-2 at Anfield. Here is how we rated the Reds' players.

Gakpo: 10/10. Played in his natural position on the left and proved his doubters and critics wrong with a MOTM performance. Made an excellent cross to assist Salah and overall was fantastic at creating chances for teammates. Then scored Liverpool's third with a perfect header. Threatening throughout the game, also a massive help defensively.

Elliott: 9. Connected the midfield and the attack brilliantly, contributing with an assist to Gakpo with a beautiful cross after winning the ball back in the midfield. Scored an absolute screamer to make the scoreline embarrassing for the opposition, although they pulled two back after that.

Robertson: 8. Kept Porro and Son in check, popped in at the right time to double Liverpool's lead. Asked questions of Spurs' defence with his raids down the left-hand side.

Diaz: 8. Dangerous on the break. Unlucky not to score with a beautiful volley in the first half. We rarely see him play through the middle and the Colombian showed he can do the job there.

Salah: 7.5. Tried really hard to score and was rewarded, breaking the deadlock for the Reds with a headed goal. The miss of the season award goes to him for failing to score from point-blank range in the 80th minute though.

Trent: 7.5. Solid defensively which is not what you often say about Trent, although he should have done better when letting Son squeeze past him for the second goal. Kept width often instead of inverting, showing that he's also a world-class player in a traditional full-back role. Nearly scored an outrageous goal from half-line late in the game.

Mac Allister: 7.5. Quietly an excellent all-round performance but gave the ball away needlessly a few times.

Quansah: 7.5. Immense at the back with his blocks and tackles, although could have gotten tighter when Spurs scored their goals.

Endo: 7. Struggled initially but improved after getting a pre-assist for the opening goal with a beautiful long ball to Gakpo.

Alisson: 7. Saved everything that he had to save, not at fault for the goals he conceded.

Gomez: 7. Missed Johnson's run leading to Spurs scoring their first goal. Good one-on-one defending against the same player later on.

Others: Van Dijk 7.5; Bajcetic 6.5; Darwin, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai N/A
