Luton unexpectedly broke the deadlock in the 12th minute through Chiedozie Ogbene after a counter-attacking move.
Tahith Chong struck from inside the box and the ball deflected off Caoimhin Kelleher into Ogbene's path.
Liverpool fans are unhappy with the goalkeeper.
"Awful from everyone involved. Endo, Bradley, Kelleher and Gomez. Bit, my god, Kelleher. First shot on target and he did THIS" one fan wrote on Reddit.
"People genuinely thought Kelleher was far away the best backup keeper in the league before the season started lmfao" the second added.
"Can we stop pretending like Kelleher isn’t crap yet?" the third insisted.
"I see Kelleher let in way too many goals like that, where they are right at him and he just doesn't get enough on it," another commented.
