Next Naby Keita? One thing about Manu Kone worries Liverpool fans

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a summer swoop for Gladbach midfielder Manu Kone.

Judging by stats and Youtube compilations, the Frenchman looks like a Gini Wijnaldum type of a player, only younger and taller. Energetic, good at winning the ball and even better at driving forward, a decent passer.

However, there is one thing that worries many Liverpool fans: Kone's injury history. At 22 years of age, he's had 10 various knocks and injuries. Nothing too serious but he's spent 160 days of his professional career sidelined.

Considering that the Premier League is more physical than Ligue 1, some fans are warning the club against making a move for the Frenchman.

"Kone we should be avoiding he looks like he has the potential to be another Naby Keita. Not doubting his quality but his injury record is not great," one fan tweeted.

"35 days out for a knock? He will fit right in! Half our team get knocks and you dont see them for weeks!" another commented.

"If he joins us, then his injury record will be at least double that. Remember, Keita and Lallana were rarely getting injured at their previous clubs," a third added.

"Looks similar to Keita's injury record before moving to Liverpool. Keita only missed 12 games in 3 years at RB Salzburg," another tweeted.

However, not every fan is concerned with Konen's injury record.

"Could be worse. Most of these injuries are just minor ones. It's not like he's Keita in that he picks up a hamstring injury every few games," one wrote.

"Muscle injuries are common for athletes still growing into their bodies. Leverages and dynamics change which can easily be tweaked if you're not used to moving a certain way," another added.

"Mate, he's like Hercules compared to the human popadoms in our squad," another commented.
