'I don’t need anyone else to tell me anything': Eddie Howe insisted he is immune to criticism

Eddie Howe is making it clear that he's not bothered by critics and their opinions. He's confident in his abilities as a coach and doesn't need anyone to tell him if he or his Newcastle team haven't been performing up to par.

The Magpies have faced a tough run lately, losing their last three matches. The latest 3-1 defeat at Brighton drew strong criticism from both supporters and pundits.

"I’m immune to it, so I’m not hearing it. I’m only feeling my emotions to be honest - and my emotions are such that when we don’t win, I’m not great to be around. That is my drive."

"I don’t need anyone else to tell me anything, really, about the team. My drive is so high. My standards are so high that I expect to win every game and I want to win every game. If we don’t, I’m disappointed in myself, so I don’t need anyone else to tell me anything."

Howe added: "I’m criticising myself. I don’t listen to other people criticising me, so I’m immune to that."

Under Eddie Howe's management, Newcastle made an impressive leap from second to fourth place in the league. This accomplishment earned Howe an extended contract at the beginning of the last season. However, their current standing is 14th in the league, following losses to Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton.
