According to Diario AS, Xavi committed three big sins that left club President Joan Laporta feeling betrayed and outraged.
1. Xavi's infamous press conference before Almeria. The manager boldly claimed that Barca had lost its glory days due to the dire economic problems. As a result, the club cannot sign the best players.
Laporta thinks differently though, citing that his administration has spent €260m on 24 new signings since assuming office in 2021.
2. Laporta and his board believe Xavi has lost faith in his players and even staff members when Xavi said, "The way forward is to change because if not we will remain the same and we will not improve."
Laporta wonders why Xavi doesn't rate his team.
3. Xavi's treatment and comments about Vitor Roque have surprised Laporta. To explain why the youngster hasn't been playing, Xavi said he didn't want Roque to come to Barca in January.
But it was Xavi who insisted on bringing the player when Gavi suffered an ACL injury citing a need to beef up his attack.
