Barcelona president Joan Laporta has ordered sporting director Deco to find a new coach for the club, Diario AS' Javi Miguel says.
Deco's preferred choice to replace Xavi is Porto coach Sergio Conceicao although names like Hansi Flick could pop up again.
This may just be the end of the road for Xavi with reports claiming his relationship with Laporta is completely broken.
Laporta's anger with Xavi follows the coach's strong message to fans in which he complained bitterly about the club's economic situation and claimed that Barca may be unable to compete with Real Madrid if things do not improve.
The Barca president now thinks it's better to give the club a fresh start with a new coach who believes in the project, other than Xavi.
Xavi denied all the rumours after Barca beat Almeria claiming he is looking forward to pre-season in July.
