Ronald Araujo says Ilkay Gundogan has apologised to him for his comments after Barcelona’s midweek defeat to PSG in the Champions League.
“It’s all clarified with Ilkay Gundogan, I spoke to him and he apologised. It’s all good,” he told reporters.
“It’s been a sad week, but I’m strong mentally. I work hard for that and that is why I was able to get to this club.
"There is nothing to say about how much I give on the field, everyone knows that I cannot be reprimanded [about giving it all] on the pitch.”
Gundogan suggested that Araujo might have been better off not making the challenge on Bradley Barcola that resulted in a red card for the defender that changed the game.
Araujo subsequently admitted he wasn’t too impressed with Gundogan’s words, sparking speculation there was a rift between the two players.
