Guardiola reveals whether Man City will go after Messi

In a recent press conference, Pep Guardiola commented on whether Manchester City will try to sign Leo Messi now that he has left Barcelona.

"We spent on Jack Grealish and he will wear number 10 because we are convinced about him... and we thought Leo would stay. Now Messi is not in our plans," the coach said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Messi's contract at Barca expired on June 30. Despite the Catalans having reached an agreement with Leo, they are unable to register him because they already exceed the salary limit.

The 34-year-old is now in search of a new team. He leaves Barcelona after 21 years at the club.
